Gymnázium Nad Alejí is an educational institution with an excellent reputation located in the peaceful Petřiny area of Prague 6. Our school is committed to providing comprehensive and high-quality education to equip students with the knowledge and skills necessary to excel academically and beyond. Gymnázium Nad Alejí is offering a general education curriculum that prepares students for university studies.
With an average enrollment of 600 students, the institute provides a vibrant and diverse learning environment. We offer two distinct study programs to cater to the needs of our students:

- The first is an 8-year program (10-19 years) with two classes. This program prepares students for the state-guaranteed entrance exams, focusing on mathematics, the Czech language, and other foreign languages like Spanish, German, and French. In the accademic year 2022/23, we received 470 applications and accepted only 60 students. Normally we accept every 8th candidate.
- The second program is 4 years long (15-19 years) with one additional class. Students in this program are also required to pass the state-guaranteed entrance exams in mathematics and the Czech language, as well as an English language exam. Last year, we received 98 applications and accepted 32 students into this program.
At Gymnázium Nad Alejí, we believe in providing equal educational opportunities. Therefore, our school does not charge any tuition fees, ensuring that education is accessible to all students from all social backgrounds.
Location
Our school is located in the architecturally and transportation-rich Petřiny area. It is easily accessible through public transportation, such as the metro (green line A), trams, and buses. With a 15-minute commute to the city center, students can conveniently explore the dynamic heart of Prague with ease.
We offer
Our school offers a comprehensive curriculum covering various subjects, from mathematics and sciences to humanities and languages. Apart from standard subjects, Gymnázium Nad Alejí provides a variety of extracurricular activities to enrich students‘ experiences. These activities include theater performances, guest speakers, language certifications such as B2 First and C1 Advanced, beekeeping, kayaking trips, international excursions, skiing courses, domestic excursions, team-building retreats, and exchange programs. To help the students reach high levels of fluency in foreign languages, our institute has many native speakers from the United States, Great Britain, Ecuador, and Germany.
Facilities
In Gymnázium Nad Alejí we believe that the key to effective learning is having facilities that cover all of the student’s needs. There is a cafeteria that prepares nutritionally balanced and delightful menus for students to have lunch directly in school. The majority of our classrooms are now equipped with interactive whiteboards, televisions, projectors, and high-speed internet. Our biggest pride are the advanced biological laboratories with the newest microscopes and tools for genetical research. We also have specialized laboratories for chemistry and physics. Furthermore, we offer many possibilities for the students to practice sports. Gymnázium Nad Alejí has two indoor gyms equipped with all the necessary tools for a great variety of sports. We even have a climbing wall and a huge outside football field with an athletic oval around it.
Activities
Throughout their studies at our institute, students are offered many possibilities of exploring other countries as well as the Czech Republic itself. In the third year, Gymnázium Nad Alejí organizes a three-week study program in England where students live in local families and have the opportunity to better their fluency. We also offer trips to Scotland in the seventh year and to Chicago in the last year. Apart from that, every class goes every year to some location in the Czech Republic where they learn in nature and strengthen their class relations.
As students near the end of their journey at Gymnázium Nad Alejí, they undertake the final examination known as „maturita“ This comprehensive assessment evaluates their knowledge and skills across multiple subjects, providing them with a recognized qualification for future endeavors.
